Mani Ratnam's 'Kadal' unit has now shifted to Kerala to Mohamma, one of the favourite spots of the director, for the film's shoot.

The 'Kadal' unit was shooting at the coastal areas in the south Tamil Nadu near Thiruchendur. The shoot planned at this location for this schedule is over and the unit is now moved to Mohamma, an exotic location near Alapuzha in Kerala. This place is said to be Mani Ratnam's one of the favourite locations in Kerala. He has shot many of his films at this place.

The director always gives a Kerala touch in all his films with his shoot held in some exotic locations in Kerala.

Rajeev Menon is doing the camera work for this film. It happens that Mani's cameramen are mostly of Kerala origin like Rajeev Menon, Santhosh Sivan and Ravi K Chandran.

'Kadal' is a romantic-drama telling the story of the people of the coastal villages in Tamil Nadu. Gautham Karthik, Samantha and Arvindaswamy play the lead roles in the film.
