Director Ram Gopal Varma has revealed that Nathalia Kaur's item number Dan Dan in Department has been inspired from the popular number Aasai Nooruvagai in Adutha Varisu. This song sung by late singer Malaysia Vasudevan is one of the all time hits.


When director Ram Gopal Varma was questioned about the smiliarities between these two songs, he agreed that Dan Dan has been inspired by Rajinikanth's Aasai Nooruvagai. He added that his Dan Dan is a tribute to Aasai Nooruvagai.
