One Moovendan, who had bought the international rights of the film, had filed a petition in the court praying for a stay of the release of the film. The petition stated that the film was made by Raj Prabha in Malayalam and the dubbing rights for other languages were given to one Sevugan. Arunachalam, a producer and distributor, bagged the rights of national release of the film from Sevugan.
Moovendan entered into an agreement with Arunachalam that he would get the DTS disc or the wave format of the film before the release of the film in Tamil. But, without producing the film copy to Moovendan, Arunachalam obtained censor certificate and announced the release and scheduled the film's release for April 20.
The court after hearing the petition of Moovendan has granted the interim stay on the release of the film. The case is now been posted to April 24 for hearing.
'Narasimhan IPS' is a dubbed version of the Malayalam hit film 'Achante Aanmakkal'. Meghna Raj has played the female lead.
