Director Sundar C said that it was very easy to direct Kalakalappu because of the cooperation extended by the actors and actresses in it.
The director also pointed out that Anjali and Oviya became thick friends on the sets so much so that they stayed in the same hotel room during the shootings.

Mirchi Shiva and Vimal also shared a very good rapport. Sundar C said that he had directed double heroine films in the past but they all had ego clashed between the actresses which were big headache for him.
