The latest news is that actor Ajith’s 51st film and most awaited action thriller movie Billa 2 is likely to hit theatres on July 13.

Sources said that July 13 had been confirmed as the date of release of Billa 2 and there would not be any further delays. Before the release the producers will try their best to change the A certificate issued by the Censor board as U/A. As the movie comes under the category of crime and action, Billa2 has got ‘A’ certificate by the censor board.

Billa 2 is directed by Chakri Toleti and produced by Entertainment and Wide Angle Creations. Parvathy Omanakuttan former Miss India 2008 and Bruna Abdullah are the female actress in the movie and the music is composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja. The others include R.D. Chandrasekhar, who handles the camera, Suresh Urs does the editing and Na. Muthukumar has penned the lyrics. Parvathy Omanakuttan, a pretty girl from Kottayam, Kerala now living in Mumbai makes her debut in Billa 2.

Earlier, it was said that the main reason for the delay of the film is due to the release of Karthi’s movie Saguni, which was opened on screens on June 22. The makers of the movie later announced that the movie will not be released on June 22 and then they had postponed the release date to June 29.

The film is the sequel to 2007 hit Billa. The film focuses about an ordinary man from the South Tamil nadu coastal regions becomes a fearless underworld don.

Director Chakri said, “I’m very excited and I hope the audience loves the film.” He also said that the expectations were very high as the earlier part of Billa was a super hit film.

The buzz in the industry is that the makers of the film have decided to release Billa 2 on July 13, as they get enough time to publicise the movie. It is said that the movie bosses felt that the above-mentioned date would be appropriate for the release considering no other releases either in the first week or the second week of July.

It may be recalled that originally Billa 2 was planned to release on July 22 but it got delayed due to censor issues after it was issued 'A' certificate. However, the makers of the film, who were not happy with the 'A' certification and many cuts, reportedly send it for the review committee in order to bag 'U/A' but it did not yield favourable results for the film.

Billa 2 directed Chakri Toleti tells the story of dreaded gangster David Billa's glorious waku doki past. The film focusses how an ordinary man from the coastal regions of South Tamil Nadu becomes a don. The movie also features Parvathy Omanakuttan and Bruna Abdullah in the female lead roles and it is a prequel to Billa, which was directed by Vishnuvardhan.
