Shruti Haasan entered the film world first as a singer and composer. And the actress has always said that she believes music to be her first muse, when it comes to films.

The actress, who is currently working at releasing a new album, has been dabbling a lot at writing music. The actress, like most of her colleagues, is an self-confessed insomniac and seems to get most of her composing done in the night.

The actress recently revealed another side to her creative streak, where she wrote on her micro-blogging that she is interested in writing a film story. She wrote, “Insomnia is my blessing and my curse. I’m awake writing more music, can’t wait till I have the courage to write a film.”

The actress, who has grown up watching the industry and how it works, it seems, has always had the inclination towards filmmaking and script-writing. And this was also validated in her father Kamal Haasan’s recent interview, where he confessed that he always thought that Shruti would be taking up filmmaking as opposed to this other daughter Akshara.
