Kumki Audio Launch - Rajini said he apologized Kamal

Rajini praises Kamal sky-high at Kumki audio-launch
It was earlier announced by the makers of Kumki which is the debut film of actor Prabhu’s son Vikram Prabhu that ‘Ulaganayagan’ Kamal Haasan would release the audio-cassettes and CDs of the film which would be accepted by Suriya.
However, the moment superstar Rajinikanth stepped on to the venue, Prabhu and Lingusamy (the producer) came hurrying and made Rajini take the centre seat on stage.

Rajini was seated next to Kamal and was seen chatting casually with him.  After releasing the audio, Rajini delivered a lengthy speech which was enjoyable and at times emotional.  Rajini thanked the fans and the people of Tamil Nadu for their prayers and wishes and goodwill which was the reason for his recovery.  “But for your prayers and good wishes, I wouldn’t have been here now.  I owe my debts to all of you and feel like a debtor who hasn’t repaid his loans,” he said.

Addressing Kamal, Rajini said “I felt bad when I came to know that Kamal visited me at Singapore while I was under treatment.  The hospital staff, however, didn’t allow him to meet or talk to me.  I came to know of his visit only at a later stage.  Soon after I returned to Chennai from Singapore last July, I spoke to Kamal and offered my apologies for the same.

“Kamal is an excellent artiste…I hear that he’s got an opportunity to direct and star in a Hollywood film…the producer Osborne is the man who made the film The Lord of the Rings….By going to Hollywood, Kamal has made Tamil and Indian cinema proud….I wish him all the very best in all his endeavours,” Rajini said amid thunderous applause.

It may be recalled that Rajini starred in a Hollywood film titled Blood Stone way back in 1986.
