At a time when Ajith is putting his foot in his 21st year of his career, we contacted director Selva who introduced him to Tamil cinema.

Director Selva said, "When I readied the script of Amaravathi, I met S P Balasubramaniam and narrated the story to him. He said that only new faces will suit this film. I asked him if he happen to know anyone.

He said, "A new face has acted in the Telugu film titled Prema Pustagam. He has a handsome face but he is very thin. Try this boy." Immediately I contacted the crew of Prema Pustagam.

The news they gave me was shocking. They said that boy is staying in Mandaveli." I met him. He was suitable for the story. I immediately signed him. That boy was Ajith."

It is really a record to be on the top for the past 20 years. We from Tamil O wish him that he should create more records in his cinema journey.
