Mani Ratnam’s Kadal from Kerala to Manapad

Mani Ratnam's Kadal unit, after completing the shooting schedule in Kerala, has shifted back to Manapad.

In fact, the crew has just wrapped up the shoot for a song in its spectacular locales. After a lengthy stint in Andaman, the unit shot in Kerala and canned a major portion of the film.

The ace director has been filming mostly in the coastal areas of Tamil Nadu. Now, he is in Manapad again, where 70 percent of the film had been shot earlier.

Sources from the unit say that among all the exotic locations where they have shot so far, Manapad is the ace director's favourite spot.

The director seems to be in love with the coastal village, which is 60km away from Tuticorin. Apparently, Rahman has recorded four songs for Kadal.

The song that was shot in Manapad, is a beautiful poetry piece written by Vairamuthu. Madan Karky has also penned three songs for the film.

The good news for Maniratnam fans is that the film is almost complete, withjust a few scenes remaining to be canned.
