Vijay upset on Yohan script, asks Gautham to re-work

Yohan: Athyayam Ondru was launched with much fanfare a few months ago. The movie to be directed by Gautham Menon is to star Ilayathalapthy Vijay. The latest we hear is that the movie may be stalled.
Vijay upset on Yohan script, asks Gautham to re-work

According to rumours doing the rounds, Gautham Menon apparently narrated the script to Vijay recently. It seems the actor was not too happy and felt it was too slick and stylish for him. He was keener on it having a mass connect as that is his identity. It is said that the actor asked Gautham to rework the second half of the script and narrate it to him again.

Now, it is being said that once Vijay hears the reworked script he will decide whether he still wants to work in this project or opt out. Considering he already appeared in ads for the film, industry insiders are wondering if Vijay did not hear the script when he signed the film.

Gautham and he had met a few years back also to work on a project but nothing happened. We’ll have to wait and watch whether Vijay gives the go ahead this time around. All will be revealed by the end of the month say sources.

It was reported that Vijay and Gautham Menon’s Yohan: Adhyayam Ondru (YAO) was put on the back burner for unknown reasons. There were promotional posters released for the film and when everyone thought that things were ready to take off, the disappointing piece of news came as a sour one.

It is now learnt that Gautham Menon’s script failed to impress the hero of the masses. During Gautham’s Kaakha Kaakha days he had initially approached Vijay but due to creative differences things fell in Surya’s lap, proving a major hit. When Gautham narrated the script of Yohan to Vijay, the fact that the thriller will be shot in UK and has a modernistic appeal to it was too much to digest. The Thuppaki hero asked the director to re-work certain portions of the film so as to suit his rural audience. Vijay is well aware that he has a huge rural fan base and that it isn’t a wise choice to disregard their interest. He meanwhile has signed up for producer Chandraprakash Jain and director A.L. Vijay’s next project, even allotting dates for the director. His Thuppaki will wrap up by September end and he plans to go for a month long vacation abroad only to return back and start work on AL Vijay’s untitled project. Gautham Menon, on the other hand, is looking forward to the audio launch of Neethanae En Ponvasantham. As of now chances of Gautham and Vijay coming together are dim.
