Gautham Vasudev Menon and his Neethaane En Ponvasantham (NEP) has suddenly become the hottest buy in the trade.
The Coimbatore area has been snapped up by Cosmo Village Pictures for an unheard of record price. Cosmo is a leading Kovai based distributor who has also got Vijay's Thuppakki in his bag. NEP turned red hot after Gautham's innovative audio launch of the film, which was pure vintage Ilayaraja music night. And later the programme was shown on Jaya TV and got a tremendous response. It struck the right chord with an audience seeking nostalgia.
Gautham came in for much praise for pulling off the grand audio launch of his NEP. The event was attended by the who's who of Tamil cinema, who came to be a part of the live performance of Ilayaraja with a grand live orchestra. The evening was dedicated to Ilayaraja's music and NEP smartly piggy backed on it.
The response to the NEP album has been spectacular and Gautham must be a much relieved man after pulling off such a stupendous event and rigorous shoot for his film being made in two languages. The trailer too had a record number of hits on the Net.
All this has made Gautham a happy man and a week after the audio launch, he had tweeted-
"I'm happy and at peace with the response to the songs of NEP and the trailer. Thank you Raja sir and team photon."
