Two years back, Vadivelu was the numero uno comedian in Tamil cinema, wanted by everyone in the industry and even allegedly earning Rs 10 lakh per day. But, the actor suffered a reversal of fortunes after testing waters in politics during the state elections and antagonizing the ruling party.

Post that debacle, the actor became a pariah in K-Town with no filmmaker willing to earn the wrath of the powers that be by signing on the Vaigai Puyal. The actor has gone on without a film for close to two years, spending the time in his home town Madurai and in Chennai.

Some time back, there were reports that the actor will get a new lease of life as he has been approached by Simbudevan, with whom he had given his biggest hit — Imsai Arasan 23am Pulikesi (and as a hero, at that!). The buzz at that time was that the duo will be doing a sequel to their superhit film. However, it died down as quickly as it had begun.

The actor who was left wondering has now been advised by his near and dear to go for vasthu to change his current predicament. Now, we hear that the comedian is planning to shift his home and will be moving in to a property which he is currently building in the outskirts of the city.
