Vimal is currently acting in a film titled Sillunu Oru Sandhippu. Oviya and Deepa Shah are pairing with him. Oviya who made her debut through the film Kazhavani paired with Vimal in this film.
After this both of them acted in the film Kalakalappu.

When asked Vimal that whether he is recommending Oviya in the films he act, he said, "I don’t recommend anyone. I don’t ask for any particular person to pair with me. Only the directors and the producers sign the heroines. Many are asking that among Oviya and Deepa Shah, who is the suitable pair for me. Both of them are like my two eyes."

One of the journalists asked Vimal that why he is continuing to act with Oviya. Vimal who was tensed said, "I will not act with Oviya in future. Is it okay for you," and walked out angrily from the venue. Oviya who was cheerful till then lost her mood.
