Director Mani Ratnam, known for keeping upcoming films’ details a well-kep secret, is doing the same for Kadal as well. After the exit of Samantha from the project, he roped in Radha's younger daughter, Thulasi Nair for the role. Already, Gautham Karthik, son of Karthik, is playing the lead.

Now we hear that the strict director has passed a condition to the parents of both the lead actors, Radha and Karthik, that they should not allow anyone to take pictures of Gautham and Thulasi, as Mani Ratnam wants to keep their identities a secret. Looks like the promise is being well kept.
