TFPC president S A Chandrasekar and treasurer S Dhanu on Thursday morning announced that they have moved the civil court to stay the general body meeting, which they claimed had been convened, violating the council’s guidelines. However, the opposing members later clarified that they took up the issue with the High Court, which, in turn, vacated the stay order.
Producer Keyar, who spoke on behalf of the opposing members, said, “The Producers’ Council’s general body will meet on October 28 according to the court order. A retired judge has also been appointed to supervise the meeting and the police commissioner directed to give protection as well.” He said members have already decided to bring no confidence resolution on the administration on October 28 and added the meeting is also open to S A Chandrasekar and other chair holders. It should be noted that council members had earlier levelled various allegations against the administration.
