Thuppaki, Kumki & Podaa Podi clashes at Diwali Box Office
Finally, the trade reports are out and it’s going to be three big films from the most celebrated banners of Tamil film industry.

Thuppakki has a big star in Vijay and a big director in A.R. Murugadoss coming together for the first time. Kajal Agarwal pairs Vijay for the movie and produced by Kalaipuli S Dhanu was the first one to be confirmed for Diwali release before couple of months.

It was later said that Silambarasan-Hansika Motwani starrer ‘Vaalu’ produced by SS Chakravarthy would be the contender with Vijay.
Poda Podi
The shooting was proceeding rapidly, however got stuck on the halfway due to financial constraints. With the film being postponed to Pongal 2013, Silambarasan decided to replace it with Poda Podi. The film is a beautiful romantic entertainer set in backdrops of dance and music. A major portion of the film has been shot in London.
Kumki
The third one to join the Diwali bandwagon is Prabhu Solomon’s Kumki that marks the debut of actor Prabhu’s son Vikram and Lakshmi Menon of Sundarapandian fame in lead roles. Since the film is arriving from the maker of trendsetting film Mynaa, the expectations have already become bigger. Lingusamy has produced the film under the banner of Tirupathi Brothers.

Since all these three films are based on different themes and genres, the film buffs are curiously awaiting the festival day of light (November 12) for celebrations...
