Vijay does regular parents, spends more time with family
With Thuppakki wrapped up, including post-production work, Vijay, everybody’s favourite hero, was spotted in a somewhat different role the other day.
The Velayudham star was spotted, dropping off his son, Sanjay, at a premier school. “Whenever I get a break like this, I see to it that I spend maximum time at home,” he says.

Dropping his son and daughter, Saasha, off at school in the morning and picking them up — chores that all regular parents do — are most enjoyable for the actor who does not get too much time at home to do these things.

“A dutiful father, that I am, I do everything that makes them happy,” Vijay says. While availing of this chill-time at home, he is also enjoying wife Sangeetha’s cooking and catching up on movies. The controversy over the title, Thuppakki, also gave the star the much needed break.

Thuppakki, he says, “and the experience of working with Murugadoss and Santhosh Sivan,” was a new one for him. “They are super fast, and at the same time, maintain great quality. From day one there was an instant bond between us and our vibes were good, and I hope that it is being translated on screen.”

The movie was mostly shot in Mumbai, where he could move about freely, an impossible task in Chennai. “I mingled with the people, used to take a short stroll on the beach in the mornings, had some heartwarming interactions with Tamilians living in Dharavi, where we shot a few scenes,” he says.

The actor hotly denied having doubts about teaming up with director A.L. Vijay after Thaandavam received mixed reviews. “No, not at all! In fact, I watched Thaandavam recently. My next film is with Vijay only,” he concludes.
