Vimal and Oviya are pairing in the film titled Sillunu Oru Sandhippu. Both of them paired earlier in the film Kazhavani.
That film turned out to be a super hit. Oviya and Vimal had also acted together in the film Kalakalappu. (but not paired)

There is news that Vimal and Oviya have become close friends and Vimal is forcing the producer and the directors to cast her in the female lead roles in the films, he is donning the lead roles. Vimal denied this news and also mentioned that he will not act with Oviya in the future.

Oviya has also given her explanation with regard to this. She said, " News are being spread that Vimal is recommending my name for the new films. There is no truth in this news. Vimal has not recommended me for any of the films. Other actors also are not in search of offers for me. I am getting my roles if I am suitable for them. I have acted with Vimal in three films. Vimal has not recommended me for these films. Only the directors selected me and made me act in these films."
