Reacting to a latest controversy on her after she attended a Telugu film function in Hyderabad recently with a saree which had images of Hindu Gods, Kushboo said 'I have better jobs to do.'
Kushboo had reacted to the latest controversy which had happened in a Telugu Film Function. She was wearing a saree which had images of Hindu Gods.
She had stronglly opposed the comments and she said '' she will not react to the charges made by someone who want to get publicity by using her name.

Earlier, the Hindu Makkal Katchi accused Kushboo of hurting the sentiments of Hindus by wearing saree of hindu gods. The statement was "How can one wear the pictures of Lord Rama and Lord Hanuman in such a way," according to the office-bearers of the party, who have demanded unconditional apology from Kushboo.

CHENNAI: Actor Kushboo has landed herself in another row. At a recent Telugu film industry function, the actor, who is now a member of the DMK, reportedly wore a sari which had Hindu deities Hanuman, Krishna and Rama embossed on it, enraging some Tamil Nadu-based Hindu outfits. The Hindu Makkal Katchi (HMK) has sought an explanation and an apology from the actor for "hurting" Hindu sentiments. When contacted, Kushboo declined to react. "I am completely ignoring it," she told.

HMK's Chennai zone president Muthu Ramesh accused Kushboo of "deliberately" wearing the sari with the elaborately worked Kalamkari pallu. "She must have done it purposefully. Her intention is to attract public attention. These Hindu gods have been worshiped by crores of people worldwide. No one can wear pictures of Lord Anjeneya and Lord Rama in such a way," said Ramesh. "If Kushboo wore the sari unintentionally, then she has to seek a public apology. Otherwise we will stage a protest and seek legal action against her," he said.

Strongly condemning the HMK's statements, activist and lawyer B S Ajeetha said, "Every time these organizations take up such trivial issues and try to get mileage out of it, we should ignore them." She wondered why they did not take up the case of poverty-stricken Hindus or the cause of dalits when they were violently attacked in Dharmapuri and Cuddalore recently. "They seem to think it's alright for men to wear symbols of Hanuman and Rama. But if a woman wears it, they term it an outrage."
Designers point out that it is quite common to see women wearing such Kalamkari saris with pictures of gods and goddesses, dancing peacocks and even the Gayatri Mantra embossed on them.

Kushboo, who was fighting cases in various courts for her comments on pre-marital sex and live-in relationship, finally got reprieve after the Supreme Court dismissed all the cases against her in 2010. In 2007, a Hindu Munnani activist lodged a complaint against her in a civil court in Kumbakonam, alleging that Kushboo was seen sitting with her chappals in front of idols of goddesses Lakshmi, Saraswathy and Parvathi during a film muharat in Chennai.
