At this juncture, some political and Hindu organizations feel that there will some sequences defaming Hindus. Hence some advocates have filed a complaint with the Police Commissioner stating that the film should be screened to Hindu organizations before sending it to the Censor Board.

When asked Producer Anbalagan about this, he said, "There are no sequences about any religion in Aadhi Bhagavan. The title Aadhi Bhagavan depicts about two characters in this film. This title has been taken from Thirukural. This is a commercial romantic film. This film is an entertainer with all the commercial ingredients. They are trying to stall this film. Without any valid reason they are protesting against this film. They are doing this for their publicity sake. If they see the film, they will definitely like it."
