Thalaiva: Abhmanyu Singh plays villain for Vijay second time!

All movies have a villain and the Vijay-Vijay flick is no different. The latest buzz is that Bollywood actor Abhimanyu Singh will be playing the bad guy — yet again — in this film.

AL Vijay and Vijay’s upcoming film Thalaiva has roped in Abhimanyu Singh as its villain.

Abhimanyu Singh has earlier worked with Vijay in Velayudham. He is known for his work in Anurag Kashyap’s Gulaal. He has also worked in many Telugu projects, the recent being which Pawan Kalyan’s Gabbar Singh (the Telugu remake of Dabangg).

Thalaiva has Amala Paul playing the female lead and the film’s music is scored by GV Prakash Kumar. While cinematography is by Nirav Shah, editing is handled by Anthony. Shobi, Dinesh and Chinni Prakash are the film’s choreographers, Stunt Siva will choreograph the fight sequences.

Produced by Chandra Prakash Jain, under the banner Mishri Productions, the film also Sathyaraj playing an important role and for the first time Santhanam has been roped in to play the comedian opposite Vijay. The film also stars Suresh, Manobala, Ponvannan in pivotal roles.

The film’s opening song which goes ‘Thalaiva Thalaiva’ has been shot recently in a huge set erected in Mumbai. The lyrics have been written by Na Muthukumar. The film is expected to release by May 2013.
