News was that the two have had talks about the storyline and things are moving in the right direction.
When we contacted A R Murugadoss, he confirmed that Ajith and he had in fact met. "Yes, we did have talks initially last year but since we are currently busy with our respective projects currently, there have been no updates on that front," he said.
We also asked him if it was a double role for Thala and if the movie was titled Rettai Thala as some reports suggested. "Nothing is finalized yet," states the director.
While the filmmaker is busy with the Hindi remake of Thuppakki with Akshay Kumar, Ajith is shooting for Valai with Vishnuvardhan. Ajith has one more project lined up with Siruthai Siva. It's well known that the two share a warm rapport with each other and the director was keen to join hands with Ajith again. The two have worked earlier in Dheena in which the star was christened 'Thala'.
