Vazhakku Enn 18/9, one of the critically acclaimed movies of 2012 directed by Balaji Sakthivel has won the award for best film at the South Asian Film festival - Paris (Festival du film d'Asie du Sud Transgressif) held at Paris, France.

Starring Mithun, Sri, Urmila and Manisha in the lead roles and produced by Thirupathi Brother, the film has won the rare honour and first for any Tamil film.

The movie was well received by the masses and it even won the honour at the recently-concluded Chennai International Film Festival.
