Bala's upcoming film Paradesi may not get released in Tamilnadu. The only reason behind this is Paradesi will be shown at the Cannes Film festival.
This movie was announced as Valentine's day release but its release will be delayed because of its International screening at Cannes Film festival.

Anurag Kashyap was very delighted after watching a private screening of Paradesi, and came forward to release Paradesi all over North India with Hindi, English sub titles.

The latest buzz is that Bala's most anticipated film Paradesi is being planned to be screened at the Cannes Film Festival, with sub-titles. Paradesi is one of the much-awaited films of Bala, which has Atharvaa, Dhansika and Vedhika in the lead. The Cannes Film Festival 2013 is all scheduled to take place in Cannes, France, from 15-26 May.

The film was first scheduled to be released on the 15th of February. Later it was pushed back to next week. And now it has been reported that the film will be sent in for the Cannes Film Festival to be screened there. As a result, the director again is not sure about the film's release.

Bala's Paradesi was based on Paul Harris Daniel's English novel "Red Tea". The movie set on the travails of tea plantation workers set in 1940s. The film stars Adharvaa Murali, Vedhika Kumar, Dhansika and Uma Riyaz Khan. G.V. Prakash Kumar has composed the music for the film, which has cinematography by Chezhiyan..

Even before its release, the film has been garnering a lot of appreciation from leading directors like Balu Mahendra and Anurag Kashyap, who feel its Bala's best till date.

The festival is to make India its guest entry to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the nation's film industry and a number of remarkable Indian films will be screened at the festival.
