Sheela has done many movies as a child artist and has acted as lead female actress in movies like Cheena Thaana 001, Vedha and Izhavattam.
After that there was not much of a chance for her in Tamil film industry and she went to Tollywood. As her home city, she got a good welcome there because of her looks and soon established herself as a glam queen. At that time Nayanthara who was a household name in Telugu film industry got a heavy competition from Sheela. Its also said that she got more movies over Nayanthara because of her good looks and her over the horizon dressing sense.

Suddenly the tide turned against her and before the whole market for her loses, she is planning to do some Tamil movies. With that in her mind, she has now settled in her home at Chennai. She has let go around her album with glamorous shots to directors to prove that she could prove more than as a commercial actress. Also its said that she wants Nayanthara to know that she is in the race and thereby has increased the pressure for the actress from Kerala.
