Srinath replaces Kannan to direct Santhanam in 'Maryada Ramanna' Remake

The latest buzz in the industry is that the remake of S S Rajamouli's Maryada Ramanna, which was supposed to be directed by Kannan with Santhanam in the lead, will now be helmed by actor-director Srinath.
Kannan says, "I was in talks with producer Prasad V Potluri's banner for the remake. But, they wanted to work on a first-copy basis with Santhanam. Since I was not comfortable with this process, I opted out of the film. I spoke to both the producers and Santhanam, and it was a mutual decision." Srinath, who debuted as a director with Muthirai, confirms his involvement in the project.

"Pre-production work is on in full swing, and we're in the process of finalizing the cast and crew. The project might go on the floors mid-March," he adds. Kannan informs, "I'm ready with my next script — Alangaram. And I will be making this film for the same banner. An official announcement will be made soon."
