But Sundar.C in a recent interview revealed how the movie did change his life. Here is the extract from the interview.
" I won't direct a movie like Anbe Sivam again , because it changed my life for the worst, i did not get a single chance to direct after its debacle. Critics and fans lauded me after watching it in DVD's and Tv Channels but the movie was a commercial failure , my bank accounts were blocked and i did not even receive my salary for Anbe Sivam , people expect me to direct a commercial comic film that's my cup of tea that's what i'll do.
Sundar C currently has two directorial venture waiting to hit the screen in 'Madha Gaja Raja' & 'Theeya Vella Seyanum Kumaru'.
ANBESIVAM A REAL WORLD CLASS MOVIE.I DONT KNOW WHY THIS MAN SUNDARC IS TALKING LIKE THIS.ITS NOT A COMMERCIAL MOVIE BUT ITS A REAL WORLD CLASS MOVIE.WORLD CLASS ACTING BY THE WORLD CLASS ACTOR.IF SUNDAR C DIDNT LIKE TO DIRECT THEN WHY DID HE DO SO HE COULD HAVE LEFT THE CHANCE INSTEAD SOMEONE ELSE WOULD HAVE DONE IT.ITS NOT FARE TALKING NOW ALL THESE SORT OF EXCUSES.THE MOVIE ALSO DID A FARE BUSINESS.BUT WAS NOT A GREAT HIT.SUNDARC DONT TELL LAME EXCUSES WE WILL SES YOUR FUTURE FILIMS.ALL SUNDARC FILIMS AFTER ABESIVAM ARE FLOPS NOT OF GREAT SUCCESS.
ReplyDeleteIts an extraordinary movie which might not be a commercial success but its an history in the film industry and you should be proud that you are part of that movie, even you had directed 25 films nobody think about your movie after 3 months of its release any body today speaks about kalakalaapu or your any other movies, but many people speak about anbe sivam which is required for a director, be cautious while splitting the words to public mr.sundar

ReplyDeleteIn fact, the sad part is nobody would believe it was directed by Sundar C even if he had a bit to do with direction, cause this is purely a Kamal's movie. I think for namesake Sundar C has been roped in, could be due to time constraints. I am sure Kamal must have done 99% of this movie, cause he is simply one of world's best and that is pretty much evident on this movie as wel, so I see no reason why Sundar wants to crib abt this . . ., like other comments say, he's just gotta be proud to be part of this awesome movie . . .
ReplyDeleteI agree with you. Even I suspect that is this film was really directed by Sundar C or he is used only for name sake. The doubt arises, comparing his all other bullshit movies with this classic movie
DeleteI saw thi awesome movie today, & I must say that it is one of the best movies ever in Indian Film Industry. A big salute to all who are part of this legendry film, especially Mr.Kamal Hassan.
ReplyDeleteFurther, I just wanna say that it's a real shame that this movie was not excepted by majority of audiences, a movie like this would've earned Crores. Sad that viewers are still loving masala movie.
From my end i will give 10 out of 10 for this movie. Best movie ever made in the history of Indian Cinema.
Sundar Sir, "Anbe Sivam" is one of the best world class film. Absolutely brilliant. All other films.. Any Tom, Dick and Harry can direct.
