Dhanush becomes highest paid singer, croons in 'Irandam Ulagam'

Dhanush does not want a factory-like approach to singing, is very choosy and not willing to take up umpteen offers coming his way after the Kolaveri success.

Recently, Himesh Reshammiya met him and offered a bomb to sing a particular song in Son of Sardar. But Dhanush politely refused as he wants to be known as an actor and not a singer in the North as his debut Hindi film Raanjhnaa gets ready.

But when his brother Selvaraghavan insisted that Harris Jayaraj wanted to meet him, Dhanush obliged.

And the buzz is that he was reluctant to croon and to bring him on board of Irandam Ulagam, the producers had to shell out a whopping Rs 8 Lakhs!

When contacted, a spokesperson of PVP cinemas confirmed that Harris wanted Dhanush's voice in that particular song and was paid a " large amount" and did not divulge the figure.

Now if this is true, Dhanush becomes the highest paid playback singer in South!
