Ilayaraja has made a drastic comment that it is a loss for Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth as they have not made use of him for their movies.

Ilayaraja has done music composition for maximum number of Kamal Haasan’s movies and Rajinikanth’s movies. Those numbers composed by Ilayaraja are evergreen.

But following ‘Valli’, for which story, screenplay and dialogues are by Rajini, Ilayaraja and Rajini have not teamed up. Following Kamal Haasan’s ‘Virumandi’, Ilayaraja has not composed music for Kamal Haasan’s movies.

Reporters placed the question as to why he has not teamed up with Kamal and Rajini.

Following ‘Virumandi’, Kamal Haasan has not teamed up with you, and following ‘Valli’, Rajini has not teamed up with you… Have you ever thought of that?


‘There is no agreement between us that I should compose music for their movies. I have never signed such agreement with anybody. They might have predicted that my music composition for their venture would not be appropriate. But they do not know that it is a mistake.

The reason is that I cannot predict my own music composition. Then how could they?

Nobody should underestimate me…

My music does not stick to one particular time period alone. It is their wish to reject me. By doing so, they are losers. My music would last through time…’
