The latest news is that Kamal Haasan has been roped in to play the lead role in a film for Lingusamy’s production house Thirupathi Brothers. Kamal Haasan is expected to do this film after he completes Vishwaroopam 2.

After the super-success of Vishwaroopam, Kamal Haasan is now finalizing plans to release the film’s sequel, a major portion of which is said to have been shot alongside the first part itself. The sequel reportedly has a major role for Andrea Jeremiah, the playback singer-turned-actress.

Though Kamal is all set to go to Hollywood to direct and star in a film to be produced by Barry Osborne, it is also reported that he might go for a quickie and do a film for Aascar Films’ Ravichandran. If he does so, his Hollywood plans might get postponed by a few more months. In the meantime, it is now reported that Kamal might star in Lingusamy’s upcoming directorial venture.

Lingusamy reportedly held talks with Kamal Haasan and narrated a script which convinced the latter to give it a try. Unconfirmed reports say that Kamal has even signed along the dotted lines to star in the film. No details, however, sources close to Lingusamy says Deepika Padukone plays female lead and technicians have been revealed so far.

Remember, Lingusamy's Thirrupathi Brothers had earlier got the remake rights of Akshay Kumar's Special 26.

At that time Lingusamy had said that he is keen to remake it with Kamal Haasan. But our sources have indicated that Kamal is not keen on doing remakes.
