Nayanthara receives Nandhi award from Amitabh Bachchan
Andhra Pradesh State Government Nandi Award is being considered as one of the prestigious awards as far as Telugu film industry is considered.

Nandi Awards for year 2011 were distributed last night in Hyderabad. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Kiran Reddy and Bollywood super star Amitabh Bachchan participated in this function and distributed these awards.

Nayanthara was given the Nandi Award for her best acting in the Telugu film Sri Rama Jayam.
Mahesh Babu got the award for his best acting. Nagarjuna and Lakshmi Manchu also got these awards. Chief Minister Kiran Reddy honoured Amitabh Bachchan by giving him the N T Rama Rao Award.

Amitabh Bachchan while speaking on this occasion said, “I feel humbled being honoured with an award that carries the name of N.T. Rama Rao, a great man with whom I worked a lot.

We exchanged ideas and remade Telugu films in Hindi and vice versa and I interacted a lot with him. Cinema unifies us despite caste, creed and race.

While watching a movie in a cinema hall, we don’t care who is seated next to us. We laugh at the same jokes and cry at the same scenes. We should be proud of Indian cinema for integrating us.”
