Director Hari Gopalakrishnan says his upcoming Tamil action-drama "Singam 2" will be an extension of "...
The second part is a continuation of the first with additional characters.
"I have retained all the characters from the first part and I have also added a few more actors in 'Singam 2', which makes it a continuation of the first part. Probably for the first time in Tamil cinema such a feat is attempted," said Hari in a statement.
"Singam 2" features Suriya Sivakumar, Anushka Shetty, Hansika Motwani, Vivek, Santhanam, Nassar, Vijay Kumar, Radha Ravi, Mukesh Rishi and Manorama.
"I had developed the story for the second part even before 'Singam' was released. Following the success of 'Singam', I decided to work on 'Singam 2' and I have received lot of encouragement from my team," he said.
Hari says one of the highlights of the film would be locations. The story is set in South India and South Africa.
"While the first half is shot completely in South India, we have filmed crucial parts of the second half in places such as Durban, Cape Town and Johannesburg in South Africa. We have filmed an important fight scene in the crowded streets of Durban," he said.
Talking about the Indian locations he said that the story is set against the backdrop of Tuticorin in Tamil Nadu. "We have also shot in places such as Karaikudi, Ambasamudram, Tirunelveli and Hyderabad," he added.
Some parts have also been shot in Malaysia.
British actor Danny Sapani plays the antagonist in the film, which has music by Devi Sri Prasad.
"Singam 2" is produced by K.E. Gnanavelraja and is slated for a summer release.
