Actress Nithya Menon is roped in as the leading lady for the remake of Mollywood hit 22 Female Kottayam, which has been titled as Malini 22 Palayamkottai in Tamil version.

Yesteryear actress Sripriya is donning the director cap for the film. While Aravind-Shankar of CSK's Whistle Podu anthem fame is roped in for scoring the tunes, Nithya Menon besides acting also agreed to croon for a song. Recently, introduction song on the actress has been recorded. Also, Kovai Sarala and Vidhyulekha Raman joined Nithya Menon for the songs recording lending their voices for the song.

Malini 22 Palayamkottai will not be the exact remake, as the makers have made ample changes to the script to suit it to the Tamil audiences taste.
