Actor turned politician Vijaykanth celebrated his birthday on August 25th and he was wished by his friends and fellow politicians. Vijayakanth, is fondly called as Captain by his fans and is the leader of the opposition party DMDK.

Vijayakanth made his debut through Inikkum Ilamai, and has since then gone on to do more than 150 movies in his career. ‘Captain Prabhakaran’ in 1991 was his hundredth film which gave him the title of Captain. Some on his notable contribution to Tamil cinmea includes Sethupathi IPS, Pulanvisaranai, Senthurapoove, Vallarasu, Ramana among others.

After starting a party and turning politician, he is now the leader of the opposition of the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly.
