Finally Ilayathalapathy Vijay's Thalaivaa is releasing today (Aug 20) in Tamil Nadu, 11 days after its worldwide release!

The film was scheduled to release on August 9, but due certain threats from miscreants it could not release. Later Vijay has issued a press release expressing his gratitude to Chief Minister Jayalaithaa for taking time of her busy schedule to sort things out and help in the release of the film.
Thalaivaa is releasing in 405 screens across Tamil Nadu. It's huge for a film releasing 11 days after its world release. The length of the film has been trimmed and is now 2 hours and 57 minutes.
