A total of 59 legends of Tamil film industry were felicitated by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalitha at the centenary celebrations of Indian cinema.

Gayathri Raguram who has taken upon the mantle of choreographer in films after her brief stint as an actress, vented out her displeasure on the 100th year award celebration as her family who have been part of the industry for the past 75 years were left out.

Taking social media to vent her feelings, Gayathri tweeted “I don’t understand this 100th year award celebration. It was so partial. Dint make sense at all. Not fair. What abt ppl who really achieved. So are we all fools to be part of this industry working so hard.”

“We r also part of 100th year cinema. Leave me. Our family is in the industry for 75 years. My great grandfather director producer k. Subramanium. My father aunts my cousins. Not one award was given. My great grand father was one of the founder for film chamber,” she further added.

Jayalalitha, who was the chief guest of the evening, honoured all the awardees with a miniature model of bioscope for their contribution to Tamil cinema.
