She plays a Malayali music student studying in Tamil Nadu in Madhayaanai Koottam. And that helped actress Oviya achieve a dream — to dub for herself.
On Thursday night, she was up at the dubbing studio and finished speaking her lines.

When we contacted her, she says, “My character in the film requires me to speak Tamil with a Malayalam twist. And, because I hail from Kerala, I thought, ‘Why not?’. The team was happy with how I spoke my lines.” So, does this mean she’ll dub for herself in the future too? “Well, I’m confident about dubbing now. So, let’s see if I’ll be able to do that in my forthcoming films.”
