Looks like Saranya has become one of the first choices for filmmakers who are looking to cast for the role of a mother. The actress, who won the National Award for Best Actress for her performance as a single mother in Thenmerku Paruvakkatru, will now be seen playing yet another powerful mother character in Amma Ammmma, directed by Balu Manivannan.

A source reveals, “Saranya and Samapath play a childless couple. During a trip, they become friends with another couple, played by Anand and Devadarshini. Fate plays a cruel trick, and Devadarshini dies while giving birth to a girl. Saranya adopts the kid, but her elder brother wants to take her back home. How Saranya fights an emotional battle to regain the custody of the child forms the rest of the story.”
