Paradesi bags 2 awards at London International Film Festival
Director Bala’s last release Paradesi, which had Atharvaa, Vedhika, Dhansika in the leads has won two awards at the ongoing London International Film Festival.

Paradesi, a brilliant and critically acclaimed Tamil period drama  penned and directed by Bala has bagged two awards at London International Film Festival,held from 12th-18th October,2013.

Adharvaa, Vedhicka and Dhansika were the lead actors in the movie. Released in March 2013, the film portrayed the real life incidents in the pre-independence era, revolving around 1930s. The film recorded the real sufferings and pain of tea estate workers.

It is a matter of great importance that Bala’s Paradesi was the only film  from India to have been nominated for the prestigious London International Film Festival, where it received nine nominations : Bala for Best Director, Best Film, Best Foreign Language Film, Best Director of a Foreign Film; Best Lead Actor (Adharvaa Murali) ; Best Music, Best Background Scores ( GV Prakash Kumar) Best Costume Designer (Poornima Ramaswamy) and Best Cinematographer (Chezhiyan).
Paradesi has done honours for the Tamil film industry in the international map of cinema by bagging the top honours under two categories.
 National award-winner Poornima Ramaswamy has won the Best Costume Designer  award and Chezhiyan has won  the  Best Cinematographer award at the London Film Fest.
