Joining the long list of films that are inspired by real-life incidents is Ravana Desam. The film stars Ajay, who has written the script and directed the film, in the lead, along with Jennifer.

“This is Ajay’s debut film, and he has shot it in Chennai, Hyderabad, Goa, Mahim, Vishakapattanam and Yanam among other locations. Major portions have been shot on sea,” a source says.

The source adds, “The film is about the struggle of the common folks and the crisis they face during war time. When the revolutionaries and the military engage in war, the most affected by this is the public. At times, they have to seek refuge in other places, and even countries. The film is about their struggle for survival.” So, is the film about the Sri Lankan civil war and the Eelam issue? The source clarifies, “The film is primarily about humanity. But, it has been set against the Eelam background.”
