Vanakkam Chennai Tax Exemption: Udhayanidhi files complaint to Producers council

Udhayanidhi Stalin alleges against Tax Exemption issue
Courageous producer and actor Udhayanidhi Stalin of Red Giant Movies alleged about rejection of Tax Exemption to his production and distribution films though they are censored with a clean U certificate.

Now Udhayanidhi has filed a complaint to Producers council and apparently submitted a detailed report.

Reportedly, Red Giant Movies productions such as Seenu Ramasamy's Neerparavai, M. Rajesh's Oru Kal Oru Kannadi and Kiruthiga's Vanakkam Chennai along with its distribution movie Vijay's Thalaiava have been rejected for entertainment tax exemption, though it satisfies all the four amendments like U certificate, Tamil culture and development, Tamil dialogues and less violence.

Addressing President and Secretary of Producers Association, Udhaynidhi appealed seeking the action against the Commercial Taxes Department of the Government of Tamil Nadu in giving entertainment tax exemption.

Petition says seven members among the committee including KM Sekar, Sankar Ganesh, LR Eshwari, Raja Shree, reporter Ramji decides whether the film will get tax exemption or not and also said some of the council members are reportedly bringing their friends and family for this special censor screening against protocol.

Udhayanidhi's appeal detailed about five misdeeds in the workings of this committee like G.O No. 89/ 21.07.2011 and G.O No. 002/ 03.01.2012. And mentioned committee members Dr.M.Rajendran, Deputy Director (Administration) Directorate of Tamil Development were immediately transferred, who recommended Vanakkam Chennai for tax exemption.

Stalin concluded stating, this rejection of tax exemption even effects distributors and theater owners associated with his films and requested the Tamil Nadu Film Producers Association to do the justice.
