Nayanthara celebrated her birthday yesterday (Nov 18) quietly at her home in Kochi with her dad and mom.

Her parents gave her a surprise in the morning by filling the house with flowers and a dozen cakes but she received another pleasant surprise from her fans.

In Kerala it was a dawn-to-dusk ‘Hartal’ called by the Opposition Left Democratic Front (LDF) on Monday and in spite of it, hundreds of her fans from various parts of Kerala came to her apartment to meet her.

Nayan was overwhelmed to know that they had assembled the previous night in Kochi as public transport was shut.

Nayan asked her staff to arrange a small meet 'n' greet at the hall attached to the apartment.

Enthusiastic fans had brought a huge photo cake with her face on top and Nayan cut it. Later, lunch was quickly arranged and the crowd went back smiling!

Now that's what you call star power.
