MGR makes an ‘appearance’ in Prabhu Ganesan’s film

Prabhu
It’s known that Sivaji Ganesan and MG Ramachandran, two legendary actors, ruled Tamil cinema a few decades ago. What’s making news now is that a film that stars Sivaji Ganesan’s son, Prabhu, will have MGR making an ‘appearance’ in it. Yes, the makers of Ennamo Nadakkudhu have shot a sequence that will feature a look-alike of the late actor.

Director Rajapandi says, “We’ve not opted for graphics, but shot it with an MGR look-alike. The scene will feature audiences cheering him with his ‘Puratchi Thalaivar’ title. His famous headgear will also be seen in the scene.”
Elaborating, he says, “This is a flashback scene, set in the early 80s, and has Prabhu and Vincent Asokan battling it out in the boxing ring. MGR is a self-confessed fan of boxing, and he has attended several tournaments in north Madras as well. So, we have shot a sequence in which the MGR look-alike attends a match between Prabhu and Vincent.” In the film, there’s also a song on MGR — Vaa Idhu Nethiyadi — that has been penned by lyricist Gangai Amaren.
