Looks like 2014 in Kollywood will be a year of dual roles for actors from the industry. After Jayam Ravi, who played a dual role in his recent release, Nimirnthu Nil, Kollywood’s top actors are playing double roles in their upcoming releases.With actors sweating it out at the gym for giving distinct looks for two characters — Kollywood’s gearing up for a double dhamaka this year. Chennai Times lists some of the films that have actors in dual roles.. 
ACTOR: KAMAL HASSAN MOVIE: UTTAMA VILLAIN The Ulaganayagan’s Uttama Villainhas the actor in two characters — Uttaman, who is an 8th century drama actor and Manoranjan, a 21st century movie superstar. Pooja Kumar will play the role of a disturbed princess opposite Uttaman, while superstar Kamal’s love interest will be played by Andrea Jeremiah.With the first look of the film giving away the superstar look, we will have to wait what the actor does for the 8th century character.

MOVIE: ANJAAN Suriya has a long list of films where he was seen in dual roles, and director Linguswamy recently confirmed the news that he will be seen in a double role in Anjaan as well. He will be seen essaying the role of a gangster from theMumbai underworld and will also be seen in a stylish avatar in the other.

ACTOR: JAYAM RAVI MOVIE: NIMIRNTHU NIL Jayam Ravi’s recent release saw him playing the role of a principled young man, Aravind Sivaswamy and had him in an almost-villain role as Narasimha Reddy. The Ravi vs Ravi fight sequence turned out to be one of the highlights in the film and the actor carried the double role with ease.

ACTOR: VIJAY MOVIE: UNTITLED AR Murugadoss’s yet-to-be- titled film with Vijay will see him in a double role.While very little information has been given about Vijay’s characters in the film, buzz is that Murugadoss has roped in a Bollywood stylist to give the actor two different looks. The team began shooting in Kolkata and Vijay is seen in his usual look as of now.

ACTOR: RAJINIKANTH MOVIE: KOCHADAIIYAAN Rajinikanth’s most-awaited release will see the Superstar in two roles. He will be seen in the title character, Kochadaiiyaan, a loyal commander of an emperor; the other role is that of his son Rana, who is an angry young man. Dancer and actress Shobhana will romance Kochadaiiyaan, while Bollywood lass Deepika Padukone will romance the younger Rajinikanth.
