Sasikumar and Varalakshmi Sarathkumar are gearing up to play the lead roles in director Bala's next film. Director-actor-producer Sasikumar is reported to be donning a new look for his role in the movie.

Bala is known for his characterization and looks of lead actors in his movies such as Vikram in Sethu and Pithamagan, Arya in Naan Kadavul, Vishal in Avan Ivan et al. But Sasikumar who failed to impress audiences with his modern look in Brahman, going with a clean shave and a pencil moustache similar to veteran actor Chandrababu in Bala's film.

As per sources, Bala made Sasikumar walk through the busy streets of T Nagar with his new look apparently no one recognized him. They also said that Sasikumar has two different looks in the movie and the other one is still unknown.

Tentatively titled as Karakattam, Bala's film showcases Varalakshmi as Karakattam dancer, while Sasikumar is doing the role as a Nadaswaram expert. Sasikumar is also working on his body language to bring in a pinch of femininity to suit his role in the film.

Ilayaraja has composed twelve songs for Karakattam that will have cinematography Chezhian and editor Kishore among the crew. Makers are in search of one more actress to play Varalakshmi's sister in the movie.
