Delay in Censors made Released Reschedule

All of a sudden, there is a confusion in the release dates of upcoming Tamil films. Movies namely Dhanush's Velai Illa Pattathari and long awaited Jai-Nazriya Nazim Thirumanan Ennum Nikkaah have rescheduled release dates.

While, Velraj directed Dhanush-Amala Paul VIP release is being postponed to next available date, Thirrupathi Brothers 'Sathuranga Vettai' preponed to July 18 and Ascar Films announced Jai's Thirumanan Ennum Nikkah will be a July 24 release, a day before Ramzan.

2014 has seen many more releases in Kollywood during the first half of the calender, compared to previous years. Even then, we have a list of more 30+ small and big films awaiting for release.

When some films are waiting for the apt release dates, few noted Tamil movies that have already announced release dates are unable to complete censor formalities within time.

This is because nearly 48 members from censor team have completed their terms by June 30 and the remaining are unable to certify all the films on time, revealed Censor board chief in Chennai. CBFC was censoring 5-7 films a week, which has now come down to 1-2 for a week!

In this case movies like Jayam Ravi-Trisha Bhooloham, Karthi's Madras, Sarabham, Vijay Antony's Salim are few others that are yet to be censored and planning for release by the end of next month.

It seems like, Pizza director Karthik Subbaraj's Siddharth-Lakshmi Menon starred Jigarthanda will get huge screens for Ramzan weekend [25 to 28], which was censored with U/A long back.
