When Ilayathalapathy Vijay zeroes in on a project, it naturally makes news. Now, the actor, who is busy with Kaththi directed by A R Murugadoss, will start his next project with Simbudevan soon.

In preparation for the shoot, the director, accompanied by ace Bollywood cameraman Natraj Subramaniam, is heading for a location recce.
The Bollywood cameraman who has also acted in and cranked the camera for several Kollywood films, is all set for a 10-day trip around the country. He says, "Simbudevan and I are headed to several states across India, like Kerala, interior TN, Maharashtra and even up North to Punjab and Himachal Pradesh. The idea is to look for locations that have not been seen on screen before."

Nutty will be showing Simbudevan some ethereal and breathtaking locations in the Chamba Valley, Dalhousie and other places up North, apart from Satara in Maharashtra. He explains, "During my shooting for Hindi films and ad films, I have explored several new terrains around the mountain areas in the North. I had shot them on video and have shown these videos to Simbudevan when we discussed the script of Vijay's film. Now, he wants to see those locations with his own eyes and get an idea, before we commence shooting."

The film will also be shot in Pollachi and Coimbatore in TN. "This is a fantasy based script and it will be a path-breaking film. So it demands the use of such locations like lakes, mountains and greenery that have never been captured before on camera," reveals Nutty. Ask him why they are not scouting in foreign locales for raw scenic beauty or using computer graphics and he replies, "We want to keep it as natural as possible, so we won't use CG. And as for foreign locales, we decided to take up the challenge of finding unseen locations and shooting the film in India itself."

The cast of the film includes Sruthi Hassan and Hansika. Sridevi will be seen in a pivotal role in the film which also stars Kannada star Kicha Sudeep. Once the recce is completed and the director-cameraman duo returns and finalises locations, the movie will go on floors by the end of August. After Mumbai being the chosen locations for many a Tamil film in recent times, it now looks like Vijay is all set to conquer fresh terrain further North through this film.
