Five Tamil films are gearing up for release for the 3-day weekend. Vinayaka
Chathurthi is today an important festival date for Kollywood. Remember last year Sivakarthikeyan’s Varuthapadatha Valibar Sangam rocked the box-office during the period.
The five Tamil films which are trying for a Vinayaka Chathurthi weekend release on August 29 are-Jayam Ravi’s Bhoologam, Karthi’s Madras, Vijay Antony’s Salim, Atharvaa’s Irumbu Kuthirai and Parthiepen’s Kathai Thiraikathai Vasanam Iyakkam.
The trade feels among the lot only two or maximum three will release, depending on the producers clout with distributors and exhibitors. Much will also depend on how big Suriya’s Anjaan due on August 15 fares at box-office.
Meanwhile two out of the five have already been censored. The other three are waiting for a censor date to get certified. It promises to be an interesting battle ahead.
