The teaser of Ilaiyathalapathy Vijay’s upcoming movie Kaththi was released on September 18 along with the audio of the film. Within a couple of days, the teaser has crossed 1 million hits on YouTube.

The teaser and the audio were launched in a grand manner. The event had a lot of energetic dance performances from the artists and powerful speeches. The launch event was entirely different from regular Kollywood events. It started on the exact time schedule and was wrapped up within a couple of hours.

The response for the teaser is more than what the makers of the film had expected and the team is really looking to receive maximum power from the teaser to get a grand opening when the movie releases for Deepavali.

The 49 second long teaser does not actually reveal anything about the story or character, but it has attained its purpose easily. The teaser had attracted huge eyeballs. In the teaser, Vijay is seen walking with a group of people, spinning the knife quite skillfully in the first few seconds, and then his face is shown through a rotating cartwheel.

At the teaser-audio launch function, director Murugadoss revealed that Vijay plays a double role in the film. He plays Kathiresan and Jeevanandam in Kaththi. The director said of the two characters Vijay is playing in Kaththi, he has adored playing Kathiresan the most. The reason one would know, when he/she watches the film,he added.

Kaththi, directed by AR Murugadoss, has its music scored by Anirudh. While Vijay plays the main role, Samantha plays the female lead. The other cast of the film has Neil Nitin Mukesh, comedian Sathish and Tota Roy. Kaththi is Vijay’s second film with director Murugadoss after the astonishing success of Thuppakki (2012).
