Kaththi’s release in the United Kingdom has been confirmed on October 22nd, with the censor board in that country granting it a ’12A’ certificate.

Generally, all feature films are awarded with a ’12A’ certificate in the UK, which means the film is suitable for viewers above 12 years and those below that age should be escorted by an adult.

Vijay has a huge fan following in UK and Kaththi is slated for release in about 70 screens there, which is a big number for a Vijay starrer till date! The movie, directed by AR Murugadoss, will be released in over 1500 screens across the globe.

All 4 of Vijay’s previous releases, Jilla, Thalaivaa, Thuppakki and Nanban, find were the best openers in UK. Given the extent of Kaththi’s opening, a new record for weekend collections can be expected.

In the UK, a key overseas market and a space where Vijay always commands a very strong pull, the film is reported to be opening in around 70 cinemas, which is a new record. October 22 is the opening date and booking plans are expected to begin soon. Ayngaran would be releasing Kaththi in UK.
